Ku Day Ta is a new company that promotes tea drinking through a range of tea lounges where you can enjoy various tea drinks in a relaxed, stylish and contemporary atmosphere. In addition to tea drinks and unique confectionaries, we also offer a selection of packaged tea for sale. The company’s first tea lounge is in Milpitas, California.

We in Ku Day Ta celebrate and appreciate tea from around the world and we want to share this with you, our customers. We believe tea can be fun, creative and interesting and we want to bring you this different perception of tea. We want to replace the general impression that tea must be serious, and shift away the “tea bag and hot water” paradigm. Our philosophy is to bring good quality loose teas from around the world, offer different tea beverages accompanied by truly special confectionaries and provide you with a place to enjoy tea, while promoting its health benefits.

Ambiance
Ku Day Ta provides a relaxing ambiance, with a combination of trendy yet pleasing décor, comfortable seating both inside and outside, and music from all over the world setting a backdrop for you to enjoy our teas and confectionaries

Internet Access
We provide free wireless internet access to provide you with an opportunity to get work done at the lounge, or just communicate online.

We welcome you and your friends. Come on in and enjoy our tea and our lounge. It offers a sanctuary in between shopping, a time to catch your breath, clear your mind, meet friends or make new ones, get your work done, process things or just get away from it all.

We are also open for hosting corporate events, bridal showers, charity events and local club meetings, or any kind of event.

Ku Day Ta Mission

In French, “coup dé tat” means “revolution”, and we hold to that grand ideal. We seek not just a broadening of your tea horizons, but a complete revolution of the modern perception of tea. We choose the finest teas from the far corners of the earth because we want to prove what we know to be truth. That tea does not have to be boring and sterile, that Tea, like life, flourishes in wildly different patterns. It is free and expressive, earthy and mellow, energetic and exciting, relaxing and calm, sweet, soothing, complex, ingeniously simple, any and all of these things at once. Tea has been hailed as the drink of emperors, shoguns, kings and queens.  It has saved lives, prevented wars, started others, and fostered an entire nation towards enlightenment.

Tea is good for you. It has been hailed for over a thousand years as a cure for a multitude of diseases (real or imagined), and science today has been able to back many of those old stories with solid facts.

At Ku Day Ta, our passion is tea, and we are obsessive about acquiring the very best tea we can find, because we want to show off the potential of tea that we know so well. We want to show that tea can be fun, flirty, and exotic, as well as being stable, calming, and comforting.  Tea punctuates the stories of our lives. Tea can start your day with a burst of energy, and Tea can wind you down at night.  Tea is a time to stop, relax, and reflect on things, a break in the crazy whirlwind of action that makes up our daily lives.
